Shreyanka Patil and Priya Mishra will not be joining the India A squad for their upcoming tour of Australia. The multi-format tour is scheduled to begin in August.
Patil's awaited return to cricket has been delayed due to fitness concerns. The all-rounder was initially included in the squad, conditional to clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA). However, her return-to-play timeline has been extended, pushing her fitness clearance back to at least the start of the T20 series in Australia, commencing on August 7.
Legspinner Priya Mishra will also miss the tour due to an undisclosed injury. According to a BCCI release, "Both players remain under the care of the BCCI Medical Team at the Centre of Excellence and are currently undergoing their Return-to-Play protocols."
Yastika Bhatia has been added to the one-day side. Dhara Gujjar and Prema Rawat will replace the injured spinners across all formats. Gujjar (for one-day and multi-day formats) and Rawat (for T20s only) were previously named in selective squads but will now extend their stay.
Bhatia's inclusion in the one-day squad suggests the BCCI's interest in monitoring her progress, considering the Women's ODI World Cup is just over two months away. She was also a part of India's squad in the recent three-match ODI series against England, which India won 2-1, although she did not play.
India A is scheduled to play against Australia in three T20s, three one-day matches, and one four-day match, spanning from August 7 to August 24.
