Former Bangladesh batter Tamim Iqbal has confirmed he is contesting the upcoming BCB elections. Tamim retired from international cricket back in January and also led Fortune Barishal to victory in the BPL 2025.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has suspended BPL franchise Chittagong Kings after terminating its deal with SQ Sports Enterprise Ltd. over unpaid dues exceeding 46 crore taka. The franchise repeatedly defaulted on payments prompting legal action and the continuation of proceedings.
